I've seen many cases of medial arch pain misdiagnosed as plantar fasciitis. While that's not a totally out-there diagnosis, more likely for that location, especially when the plantar fascia palpates normally, is tarsal tunnel syndrome. This is compression or traction of the tibial nerve at the tarsal tunnel (medial ankle). Resolving it is typically pretty simple using soft tissue work and K-Laser. Addressing all the underlying biomechanics issues that lead to it can take a bit longer.
